The Superior Spartan Boys Hockey team hosted the North Shore Storm in a non-conference game at Wessman Arena. Spartans jumped out to a quick lead, scoring in the first :49 seconds. #14 Easton McGuire scored to make it 1-0. Assists on the play would go to #7 Brayden Severin and #4 Cainen Raivala. The quick rush of the Spartans earned another goal at the 1:51 mark of the 1st. The second goal scored by #21 Gabe Sorenson on a rebound out in front of the goal. That would Gabe Sorenson's first varsity goal. Assist will go to #10 Tyler Olson. The Spartans were not done yet as #12 Lucas Williams scored at the 3:43 with assist going to #4 Cainen Raivala. The Spartans took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission. 

The Second period no scoring was registered but the first penalties of the game were issued and each team had 2 opportunities on the power play which both teams came up empty.  The 3-0 lead would hold until 7:03 of the 3rd period when a nice rebound at the top of the left circle was scored by Storm's #8 Cole Anderson. The Spartans would close out the third period by scoring two more times. At 12:14 Superior's #12 Lucas Williams got his second goal of the game with a assist credited to #11 Brady Haroldson. Final goal of the game was scored off a wild play that needs to be seen in the highlight clip by #14 Easton McGuire for his second goal of the game and make the final 5-1. North Shore Storm's Senior Goalie #33 Zach Bentler had 35 saves in the contest. Superior's sophomore goaltender #34 Hunter Sidorowicz completed the game with 13 saves in the win.  The Nummi Jeweler "Gem of the Game" went to senior #12 Lucas Williams for his 2 goals scored and the team lead with 4. The Spartans will host Duluth Denfeld on 12/14 Thursday night in a Lake Superior Conference matchup at Wessman Arena at 7PM.
