Strong 2nd Half Shooting Key for UWS Victory

The UWS Women’s Basketball team defeated Martin Luther by a final score of 81-63.  The leading scorers for the Yellowjackets were Justine Larson and Brittney Laehn, who both had 12 points.

In the first half of the game, the Yellowjackets shot 14-36 from the field and were 3-6 from the three point arc.  Brittney Laehn scored eight points in the first half, going 2-3 from the three line line.  Sarah Lekson scored five points and had four rebounds in the half.  Grace Schultz for the Knights led the team with 15 points and finished the game with a total of 22 total points, going 8-15 from the field.  She also contributed four rebounds for the team.

In the second half, the Yellowjackets shot 64% from the field and were 12-14 from the free throw line.  Allyssa Lindberg contributed off the bench and scored 10 points during the second half.  Bailee Bartunek led the team with five rebounds in the half and finished the game with a total of nine rebounds.

The Yellowjackets finished with 13 turnovers, compared to 15 for Martin Luther.
