The UWS Men’s Basketball Team defeated Bethany Lutheran by a final score of 99-79 at home. The leading scorer for the Yellowjackets in this game was Freshman Montroy Scott, who finished with 21 points.
The first half was a close game, with the score 45-43 in favor of the Yellowjackets. The Yellowjackets shot 18-33 from the field and were 4-11 from the three point arc. They hit 55.6% of their free throws, going 5-9. The leading scorer in the first half was Zach Schradle with 9. Schradle finished the game with a total of 15 points.
In the second half, Brandon Frelix led the Vikings with 17 points, hitting 7-10 shots from the field. He finished the game with a total of 38 points. Unfortunately for the Vikings, the team only went 12-29 from the field during the second half, hitting just 41.4% of their shots. They were also 0-9 beyond the three point arc.
The leading rebounder for the Yellowjackets was Vid Milenkovic with 7 rebounds. He also contributed 4 assists. Nate Kalien hit 3-8 from beyond the three point arc.
The Yellowjackets shot 57.5% from the field, going 7-22 from beyond the three point arc and hitting 8-12 free throws. Bethany Lutheran shot 50.9% from the field and hit 19-24 from the free throw line.
