Weekend Split for UWS Men Basketball Team

UWS Men’s Basketball team defeated Crown College on Friday and lost to the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday.

The final score against Crown College was 95-81.  The leading scorer for the Yellowjackets was Brian Lindblom with 31 points.  Lindblom also added 11 rebounds and was 10-14 shooting from the field.  Zach Schradle also had 30 points and was 9-13 shooting from the floor.

At halftime, the score was UWS 43, Crown College 37.  The Yellowjackets as a team shot 53.3% from the field, connecting on 16-30 shots during the first half.  They also hit 8-10 of their free throws and hit 3-7 3-point shots.  Zach Schradle scored 18 points in the half.

In the second half, the Yellowjackets shot 51.5%, hitting on 17-33 attempts from the field.  During the end of the game, the Yellowjackets gave their reserve players some playing time.  Andreas Preisler and Al Pearson each scored two points towards the end of the game.  Montroy Scott also added five points off the bench. 

Against Minnesota Morris, the final score was 78-75 in a close battle that the Yellowjackets lost. Zach Schradle was the leading scorer for the Yellowjackets with 19 points, hitting on 9-20 shots from the field.  Vid Milenkovic had 18 points and 10 rebounds.  The Yellowjackets as a team shot 41.7% from the field, going 7-22 from the 3-point arc, while connecting on 8-15 free throws.

The Yellowjackets are 11-11 this season and are 7-6 in conference play.  Next up for them will be against St. Scholastica in Duluth on Saturday.  Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
