UWRF gets past UWS Women's Hockey Team

The UWS Women’s Hockey Team lost to River Falls at home on Saturday by a final score of 2-1.

River Falls scored the first goal of the game in the first period by Carly Moran.  That was a shorthanded goal she scored with an assist by Chloe Kinsel.  

The second period was scoreless.  In the third period, Chloe Kinsel scored her 21st goal of the season to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.  The assist came from Ashley Effertz.  The Yellowjackets answered back with a goal from Karen Larson.  Larson scored her sixth goal of the season with the assist from Amanda Coey and Saige Patrick.

River Falls outshot UWS on goal with 42, compared to just 20 by the Yellowjackets.  Sky Brown was under pressure all game, as she had 40 saves.

The Yellowjackets team has a record of 9-8-4 and are 3-5-2 in the conference.  Next up is a home matchup against UW-Stevens Point on Friday.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
