#3 Northwestern defeats #2 Cumberland 3-0 in WIAA Playoff Opener
#3 seeded Northwestern Tigers defeated #2 seeded Cumberland Beavers in straight sets 25-14, 25-20, 26-24 in the opening round of WIAA Regional Playoffs. The Tigers were led tonight by Brynn Hessel with 9K,9D Brynn Erickson, 3K, 16D, and Brinley Tonn's 32 Set assists. Tigers will face the winner of Hayward and Barron in the WIAA Regional Final on Saturday.
St. Croix Falls defeated Northwestern Tigers at home 25-22, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19. Tigers head coach Charlie Hessel commented that SCF has a talented Libero that played very well. Throughout the match NHS increased their intensity and he was very pleased with their effort. The Tigers were led by Brynn Erickson 11k, 13d and Brinley Tonn 25 assists, 7d. The Tigers will be in action on Thursday night as they travel to Cameron.
Northwestern Tiger Volleyball team lost their opening game of the 2020 season. Ladysmith Lumberjacks were in town and executed a balanced attack on defense and offense. The Lumberjacks won in 3 straight games 25-20, 25-22, 25-13. Northwestern was led in kills by Brynn Hessel 6K, Kayla Paulsen 13D and Brinley Tonn 17 set assists. The Tigers next game is Tuesday the 22nd at St. Croix Falls starting at 7PM.
