Recent Lake Superior Conference - BSC News
Proctor and Superior both came into the game searching for their first conference win. Proctor opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute(#3 Ethan Carlson). Superior scored 3 straight goals that gave them the lead and eventually their 1st win in the LSC conference. Goals were scored by #4 Jakob Kidd with assist to #10 Gabriel Remington in the 23rd minute. The 34th minute had #22 Kaden Olson scoring on a left foot strike. Final Spartan goal came in the 67th minute as #4 Jakob Kidd slid through traffic on a nice assist from Kaden Olson to put it past Proctors Keeper. Proctor didn't quit as they scored with just over 2 minutes remaining. Superior held on and moved to 2-5 on the short season while Proctor falls to 2-7. Superior will host Duluth on Friday at 7PM at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex. Game can be seen on iFanTV Channel 1.
Spartans hosted Two Harbors in a nonconference matchup at NBC Spartan Sports Complex tonight. It was Senior night with plenty to celebrate. Superior went on to win the game 9-0 and get their first win of the season. Seniors #14 Andrew Scharte (F), #21 Alex Hughes (D) and Kaden Olson (F) made the night extra special with each of them scoring a goal. Scharte ended with 2 goals, Hughes a goal and Olson 1 goal and 3 assists in the win. The 1-2 Spartans will host Cloquet for a LSC matchup tomorrow night at 7PM at NBC Spartan Sports Complex.
Tonight the Spartan Soccer team will open play at home against cross bridge rivals Duluth Denfeld. A Lake Superior Conference matchup is always an important game. Duluth Denfeld comes into tonight's play with a 3-1-1 record. The Hunters are led by Keegan Chastey who has posted 12 Goals and 6 Assists. The Spartans have a talented group returning this year. They have very experienced Junior Class led by All State player Jakob Kidd. Tonight's game will be played at NBC Spartan Sports Complex and will be broadcast on Ch1 on iFanTV. Attendance is available but a warning to spectators that masks will be required all times as well as distant seating. Be respectful and courteous as we open up fall sports venues and cheer loud.
